Selling on Amazon
Selling on Amazon is great, as Amazon's customers are not so worried about getting the very best price for every item that they buy unlike say E-Bay. They trust Amazon will deliver their item asap in perfect condition with easy to open packaging and they don't mind paying a little extra for their own peace of mind.
Also, if you use FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) then your products can be purchased by the millions of people worldwide who subscribe to Amazon Prime. Using FBA also makes your products as a seller more attractive to Amazon's customers so you can charge more than those third party seller's who are using their own seller fulfillment rather than Amazon Fulfillment. In fact Amazon's customers will only pay more for Amazon itself to supply and dispatch the item rather than FBA. Often this means you can charge several times more for your products than if you were using your own seller Fulfillment which more than makes up for all the extra fees that Amazon charge you for offering you this service.
So, I now sell some of my niche items on E-Bay and some of my niche items on Amazon. I check the number of other sellers for a product on e-bay and then the same thing again with Amazon. Whoever, has the best prices gets my niche items uploaded to their website.
